In response to Jokes told on one's in-group posted by Louise88:

I quite agree, especially with the last part. It's when the jokes are retold, outside but on the group, that it goes wrong. But once they've been told by a member of the group, it seems churlish to say, "Oh, but you can't tell them!" The obvious response, "But you told it," can't really be countered with "But I'm one of..." That sounds like a strange sort of in-house prejudice.
