Actually, the doctor was probably interacting with a program on his computer that was helping him diagnose the symptoms the patient was describing. It's a pretty nifty system and it costs a small fortune. The VA uses it. It carries all the information about the patient that the doctor has keyed in from the first visit to the present one. As he fills in the blanks, the computer intuitively brings up screens seeking information that helps with the diagnosis and it even recommends the prescription to be given.

You mean like those auto diagnostic machines? Punch in the make, model, and mileage, and it reports what all the specs should be, what they are for your car, and what maintenance and repairs are needed?
.
I've long held the opinion that doctors are overpaid body mechanics. Now, I believe that even more.

My personal experience is that you couldn't pay me enough to take the crap they take or for the life they live.

Same here. A doctor inlaw, and what an arrogant snot he is. My mom was an RN for 40 years. Talk about taking crap! Nurses get it from both sides - doctors ~and~ patients.

Dorks.

My son-in-law is a housecall physcian who takes care of older people. He works hard and doesn't get over paid. Most patients are on retirement benefits of one kind or another. And, he gives a lot of free service to the uninsured.
