As Foucault put it, actions constrain actions.


Most of what we do is done in the context of what others are doing, and what we do contributes to the contexts in which others do what they do. Usually we're only dimly aware of this complex interaction. In my articles I call attention to ordinary situations in which what we do has significant moral and ethical implications.
